stop instagraming your perfect life

A few weeks ago I read this post about Instagraming your perfect life.
It got me thinking about it.

I really don't even think that people do it on purpose.
I mean, when I see a huge pile of laundry, my dog that needs a haircut, Reed covered in baby food AND spit up I don't think "wow this is a great Instagram photo op!"

But when I do have those perfect moments I tend to share them... often.

I also like following blogs and looking on Pinterest, and if you do either of the above you have to admit that sometimes you feel like you could be better, look better, decorate your house better, cook better or just lead an altogether better life.

... Uhm, stupid.

That being said, I'm not going to stop doing any of those things.
I like sharing pictures on IG because I live 14 hours from my friends and family.
I like following blogs because there's a lot of inspiration, guidance and wisdom that can be said from someone that I don't personally know.
And I love Pinterest because, let's face it, it has the best ideas, recipes and outfits. And it's basically a social media drug. No shame.

So here is my every day life that probably won't make it on Instagram... So why not show it here?
Not even photoshopped.

So yeah, we live in a small apartment, but we have a lot of stuff.

So next time I post a "perfect" picture, you can picture my "unperfect" apartment.
Which I'm already considering not posting, because it's usually not THIS messy.
But sometimes it is, and that's life.
